Science and Engineering: Master's thesis For my master's thesis at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, under the guidance of Prof. Jennifer Lewiss, I designed, modeled and tested "multinozzle" printheads. These devices passively split a single stream of ink into 64 streams of equal flow to increase the throughput of 3D extrusion printing.
Craftsmanship: Turner's tetrahedronA turner's cube is 3D shape that appears to be a "cube within a cube within a cube" but is manufactured from a solid piece of material. Instead of the traditional cube, I machined a shape that has the same structure or pattern as a Turner's cube, but used a tetrahedron as the basis. This guide goes through the process and challenges of making this shape on a 3-axis CNC mill.
Craftsmanship: Miniature chess piecesThis is a step-by-step guide on how to make 3D miniature chess pieces using only an acrylic bar and a laser cutter.
